“our favourites”

Three days on Elba? Three different beaches!

Thanks to the varied geological formation of the Island of Elba, the beaches offer a wide range of types from fine sand and white pebbles to the sparkling shores of the mining area. There are many natural paradises where you can enjoy bathing and here we suggest just a few to give you an idea. They’re must-see destinations, especially for those spending just a long weekend in this beautiful island.

“Cotoncello, a bay in the bay”

The two beaches of Sant’Andrea

The bay of Sant’Andrea has two very appealing beaches. Sant’Andrea itself offers beach establishments, landing areas, bars, restaurants and many amenities. The beach of Contoncello, to the east, is smaller and secluded by its own little bay, but has the same pale sand and famous crown of polished rocks where bathers love to relax and sunbathe. This small inlet of unparalleled beauty is considered by many to be one of the most romantic parts of the island.

“Surrounded by vegetation”

Fetovaia: Caribbean paradise

Fetovaia is justifiably one of Elba’s most photographed beaches. For many reasons. A beach of soft white sand and a long bay of crystal clear water, embraced and protected by the promontories covered with Mediterranean maquis, broom, holm oaks and a pine forest offering a cool refuge from the heat of the midday sun.
Facilities for tourists include car parks, bars, restaurants, deckchairs and umbrellas, pedal boats and canoes for hire.

“white cliffs plunging into the sea”

Capo Bianco

Overlooking the sea, the pure white cliffs of aplite stand out against the blue of the sea and become a dazzling white coast at the shoreline with the crystal clear waters. The so-called white beaches on the north coast, not far from Portoferrario, are the ideal starting point for scuba diving and snorkelling in limpid water with a wealth of sea life, especially in the shallows and numerous deep-water reefs.
